Tyler Perry Audition

Growing up in a large family (to say the least) was daunting for someone who was super shy and quiet. There was a day in my 30s when a cousin of mine and I had a discussion about purchasing property and maintaining it, work and other such things. he said to my father "I think this is the first time we have EVER spoken. I didn't know she COULD speak."

During this time, I was one of almost 30 (at the time) first cousins in holiday parties. They were all so very talented. Singers, actors, artists, musicians on and on the list goes. I loved drawing and reading and photography, but speaking was NOT in my repertoire. I did have a cousin who was like minded and we bonded at a young age and found comfort in each other in these large family functions. We have lost touch and we have also reconnected in our love of art and family.

Sheila and I both had a very rough year last year. She lost her son who was just a gorgeous young man due to a freak sickness and I my father (her uncle). In our reconnection I have since learned that she is a talented actress. I am not surprised int he least. She, like many of my relatives, decides she wants to do any art and it comes naturally.

Recently she has submitted a video for a contest to become one of the actresses in a Tyler Perry movie. I would love for folks to see this video and vote on it. She is great fun to watch and does a wonderful job playing the part. Check it out!

Sillyfit Erin: A beauty inside and out!

A few weeks back I had a photo shoot for a business owner and health coach in the Boston area. Her name is Erin Scott; her business SillyFit is taking off with great energy and positivity.

Scott has herself lost weight and reshaped her own body as a great example to others. Her healthy lifestyle, Turbo Kick, PiYo Strength and positive attitude are inspirational. In addition to this great energy, she has been asked to be a guest blogger for the Alexandra Elizabeth blog. Even when slowed down by a foot that would normally kill anyone else, Scott powers through with energy and excitement!

Check out the blog entry by Erin at Alexandra Elizabeth

Her photo shoot was a couple of hours of her dancing and stretching and lots more that exhausted me just photographing. One of these images is now promoting her business and her blog entries. It is exciting to see her success grow and, in my own mind, drag along behind her as "the one who knew her when".

All in all what I am saying is.. if you are looking for a great work out, support and energy you need to get in touch with Erin! Her blog posts part 1 and 2 are up NOW and for more info check out her website SillyErin . For a preview of more images of her exciting shoot check out Elisabeth Neville Photography.

Open Studios Porter Mills June 16

It has been a while since I have written anything. This is the part of the year when I am teaching the classes that normally run 12 weeks in 6 weeks. One would think that it would mean a shorter time and more time off, but.... quite the opposite.
The good thing about this is I have the opportunity to spend time with students teaching what I LOVE! photography. I go through different styles and teach the basics of composition and color and all the while wishing I had the opportunity to do some of the projects with them.

Studios at Porter Mills Open Studios June 16, 2012

This weekend, is the Porter Mills Artists' Open Studios. Saturday June 16th, during the Artfest of Beverly, there will be trolleys bringing the viewers to the studios and also give them the opportunity to see the gallery opening of all of the artists' work. I DO have a piece in this show.

ALSO, I will be selling cards! Father's day is on Sunday, wouldn't it be great to have a personalized hand made card just for him this year to go with that neon tie?

I hope to see you there!!!
